Sam Maranto
Illinois MUFON Independent

Sam Maranto is State Director for MUFON Illinois Independent . While acknowledging that there is no "absolute" evidence of UFOs, Maranto finds the "prove it" attitude frustrating. "Just because we do not have the capacity to understand it doesn't mean it doesn't exist," Maranto countered. "If it doesn't conform to some rational standard - if you can't kill it or stick it in formaldehyde - it doesn't exist." The study of UFOs, like other fields dealing with the unseen and unknown, are wide open to ridicule." Before the invention of the microscope and subsequent discovery of disease-causing bacteria, the concept of "invisible" creatures that make people ill was laughable," Maranto said. "People used to believe the earth was flat and anyone who disagreed was considered a simpleton."

Tim Whiteagle

I had the pleasure of meeting Tim Whiteagle last year during a get together with Researcher/Author Jim Marrs, and a finer, generous more friendly individual is hard to find. Extremely knowledgeable on the topic of Controlled Remote Viewing and given the chance, he'll never bore you with the retelling of events and situations he's witnessed. Tim is a tome of UFO material just waiting for you to open. Bill H. Burt, Wisconsin State Director - ICAR.

Kettle Moraine Paranormal

Our group investigates urban legends, hauntings, cryptozoology sightings, and more! If we don't have an answer, we will work to find you one! www.kettlemoraineparanormal.org/

Michael from Kettle Moraine Paranormal Investigations gives the following review of UFO Daze 2009:
(from http://www.kettlemoraineparanormal.org/id3.html)

Michael attended the 21st Annual UFO Daze, doing what few paranormal groups have done...gone across the border from ghost-hunting to UFO related phenomena! Amazingly...I did not get stoned out of the village, burned at the stake, or chased by an angry mob. I DID, however, have a great time talking with the folks there, sharing experiences from both sides of the paranormal field, and had myself TWO killer Bratwurst! Also, Bensons Hideaway is a great, wonderful host, and makes KILLER beverages for those old enough to drink there...WOW. Two was plenty!

For the first part of the day, I set up, and talked to people, made some pendulums, and chatted with the local color. Around 4pm, I got to take stage and did a mini-presentation on Sleep Paralysis. They all told me I did a great job...I hope that wasn't just flattery...I really get nervous doing shows single handedly. *ahem* to group members!

Thanks again to thelightside.org and ICAR for hosting the event...was a real pleasure and we hope to do it again next year, only better and better prepared! A special thanks to my wife, who gets yet another gold star for a kick-@$$ powerpoint presentation that her and I whipped up the night before!
